Shanghai, 19 January 2018 – After London and New York, The French Maison Cartier celebrates its new high jewelry collection, Résonances de Cartier, with a grand exhibition from January 19 to January 27, at Fosun Foundation Shanghai, a new art and cultural center located at the century-old Bund. With the most exquisite gems and precious stones as notes, the maison’s boundless innovation and creativity as melody, a resounding duality unexpectedly echoes from one piece to the next amongst the 400+ high jewelry creations, composing an enchanting Orchestra.

For this new collection, the Precious Stones set the tempo, with their unique Pulsations and Energy. Having taken each gem for what it is in its innermost heart; hear its beat, hear the song emanating from its form, its color, its glow and then create around it the jewel that become its echo chamber. Here is the secret behind the collection Resonances de Cartier: The Maison has crafted a vibrant and graphic aesthetic, playing on contrasts for some pieces and freehand lines for others, expressing the powerful personalities of each stones, revealing Cartier’s endless passion for Precious gems.  

Known as ‘Dancing House’, the bronze-colored architecture Fosun Foundation Shanghai crowns itself as a perfect place to render this grand jewel’s symphony. The three layers of stainless steel piping slowly move on electric-motor tracks, echoing itself perfectly with the rhythm of Résonances de Cartier.

When night fell, the shimmering treasures beautifully glimpsed with impressive skyline landscape over the Huangpu River. The commissioned public art project ‘Counter Sky Garden’ on its fourth-floor rooftop was transformed into a surprisingly aerial palace of jewel, throwing an enchanting night to its honorable guests. Cartier China CEO Mr. Renaud Litré, welcomed guests including Chinese famous celebrities CHANG Chen, HUANG Xuan, MA Yili, supermodel HE Sui, President of Fosun Foundation Jenny Jinyuan WANG, famous movie director LI Shaohong, contempotary artist ZHOU Tiehai, photographer LIU Xiangcheng. Three-Michelin-starred chef Mr. Paul Pairet from UltraViolet prepared an exquisite menu, and the evening culminated with the surprising performance from nine-time Grammy winner Norah Jones.
